South Africa's Jacob Zuma sworn in for second term
President Jacob Zuma has been sworn into office for a second term, after his party, the African National Congress (ANC), swept to victory in the general election on May 7.
Heads of state attending the colourful swearing-in ceremony, included Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, Nigeria’s Goodluck Jonathan, and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
Both the US and the UK were not be represented.
Mr Zuma faces the uphill task of stimulating South Africa’s economy – almost a quarter of all South Africans are unemployed.
