Andre Ayew elated after landing prestigious Footballer of the year award
Captain of the Black Stars, Andre Ayew has expressed his satisfaction after been adjudged as the best Footballer of the year last Saturday.
The 31 year old was honoured with this prestigious accolade over the weekend in the 2021 Ghana Football Awards ceremony which was staged at the Grande Arena- Accra International Conference Centre. It was a huge and stage ceremony held in the capital, where Ghanaian footballers who performed really well im the year under review were recognised with the Swansea City man taking home the ultimate in the end. After landing this award, Andre Ayew took to Twitter and expressed his satisfaction. He wrote; “A big thank you to the people of Ghana for your incredible support every time. I am grateful for the honour as Ghana Footballer of the Year and I share this glory with you all. Congratulations to all the nominees, we are all winners! God bless.” The ex- Marseille forward was sensational for the Swans in the just ended season getting involved in 21 goals, scoring 17 with 4 assists in 46 matches in all competitions. Currently, he is without a club with his next move likely to be announced before the summer transfer window ends.
