Asokwa MP Tours Flooded Areas, Calls For Builders At Swampy Areas To Produce Permit By Monday
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei Friday morning defied an early downpour to tour some flooded areas within the Municipality.
The MP seeing the damage caused by the floods on some structures in the Asokwa Extension area called for the verification of permits of those houses.
Madam Appiagyei tasked the Engineering department to summon the owners of the houses in the waterways to present their permits to the Assembly on Monday morning.
Livid at the sight of the floods and the devastation in its wake, Madam Appiagyei questioned the motive of persons who build on waterways and tasked the Assembly to deal with those persons with law.
DETAILS:
Wearing a sporty outfit, the female MP accompanied by officials of the Engineering department of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly and others from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) as well as the respective Assembly members of the areas toured Kaase, Old Asokwa, Asokwa Extension and Atonsu.
Also present during the tour were some executives from the Asokwa NPP branch including Benjamin Fosu Nkromah, the constituency chairman and Papa Yaw Asare Bediako John, the constituency secretary.
The MP also toured the Agogo as well as the Atonsu markets to inspect the situation on the ground.
At the Agogo markets arena, Madam Appiagyei assured traders that before their relocation for a new structure to be build their old structure would be put in good shape.
The MP called on the traders at the two markets to support the NPP as it plans and plots the development of the markets in the country.
SCHOOL TOUR:
At the New Bethel Presbyterian Primary JHS, Madam Appiagyei inspected new classroom blocks under construction.
The three structures when completed would cater and deal with the congestion in the school.
Addressing the pupils in the school, Madam Ampomah urged them to study to become useful citizens in future.
She noted that to become like the President and her humble self one needed to study hard and learn the rudiments of discipline.
