“Philip Addison might have gambled his hopes on what some national officers have told him on a possible re-run, but this is unfortunate in the prevailing circumstances,” Vice Chairman of the Klottey Korley constituency, Alhaji Aliyu Kabe has stated.
Posters of the Legal practitioner have resurfaced in the metropolis, especially his constituency, fueling speculations that the primary in the Greater Accra constituency will be re-run following a complaint of irregularities to party executives by Addison.
But the Vice Chairman of the party in the constituency Alhaji Kabe has condemned the situation, calling for an urgent intervention of the party before the issue gets out of hand.
He told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.3 FM that the new campaign posters of the defeated Lawyer, who lost the NPP Parliamentary primaries months ago to his contender Nii Noi Nortey, has created confusion in the constituency.
“Tension is building up in the area because of Addison’s posters. I got in touch with him(Addison) to explain to us what was going on and he told me he’s also heard that there will be a possible re-run, although he declined telling me the person who might have given him the information.
“I believe this is most unfortunate especially when there has not been any official communication from the party concerning the direction on this issue”
Nii Nortey has already emphasised his contestation for a possible re-run of the parliamentary primary in the constituency should the National Executive Committee decides so.
Executives of the NPP say they’re yet to take any decision on whether or not the Korle Klottey parliamentary primary will be re-run.
