Since there’s no requirement for a mental examination before signing up for social media, there will always be stupid comments – Safo Newman

Ghanaian musician Safo Newman has criticised the nature of comments on social media, arguing that the absence of mental examination requirements before joining the platforms contributes to the prevalence of what he describes as stupid comments.
Speaking on Kessben FM with Fante Quoo, the musician expressed concern about the quality of comments people make on social media, suggesting that the lack of screening before users are allowed to register gives room for irresponsible and thoughtless remarks.
“Since there’s no requirement for mental examination before signing up to social media, there will always be stupid comments,” Safo Newman said.
Social media platforms have become important spaces for public discussion, entertainment and information sharing, but they also continue to face criticism over offensive comments, misinformation and the conduct of some users.
