Gov’t presents furniture to schools in the Ledzokuku Municipality

The government, through the Education Ministry, handed over furniture to public pre-tertiary institutions in the Ledzokuku Municipal Directorate of Education at a special ceremony in Accra on Tuesday.
The provision of the furniture was part of efforts by the government to promote effective teaching and learning in all schools across the country.
The government presented 450 mono desks to O’Reilly SHS and Teshie Presbyterian SHS; 226 dual desks to primary schools; and 1229 hexagonal tables and chairs to kindergartens in the municipality.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Mr Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, stated that the government’s resetting agenda was not rhetoric but a good move to promote the development of the country.
He explained that everything possible was being done by the government to support the various facets of the nation’s economy, including the education sector.
The MP appealed to the beneficiaries of the furniture to adopt good maintenance culture to ensure that it lasts longer to merit the purpose of its procurement.
The Ledzokuku Municipal Director of Education, Mrs Theresa Tetteh, was full of praise for the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly for making funds available from the common fund for the procurement of the furniture.
She was upbeat that the donation would go a long way to promote effective teaching and learning in schools in the municipality.
The Municipal Director pledged to ensure that the furniture will be put to good use to merit the purpose of its provision.
Mrs Tetteh thanked the government for the support, which could not have come at a better time, as it will ease the challenges they faced with furniture.
