SAD: Pupils stranded in Kumasi as teachers’ strike disrupts classes
Pupils in parts of Kumasi have been left stranded as the ongoing teachers’ strike continues to disrupt teaching and learning in schools across Ghana.
A Kessben FM reporter who visited some schools in Kumasi observed that many pupils had reported to school but were unable to receive lessons due to the absence of teachers.
The development has raised concerns among parents and other stakeholders, as the disruption could affect the academic activities of thousands of pupils if the strike persists.
The teachers’ unions are expected to meet with the government to discuss their concerns and seek a resolution to the impasse.
The outcome of the meeting could determine whether teachers will return to the classrooms or continue with the industrial action.
Parents and pupils are meanwhile awaiting a resolution to the dispute to allow normal academic activities to resume.
