Sir Joe Laka questions Black Stars players’ AFCON qualifier withdrawals
Veteran journalist Sir Joe Laka has questioned the decision by some Black Stars players to pull out of Ghana’s upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Gambia.
Speaking on his show on Kessben FM, Sir Joe Laka questioned whether the players would have made similar decisions if the matches were part of a World Cup assignment.
“Would they be pulling out like this if it were a World Cup call-up?” Laka asked, raising questions about the commitment of players to the national team when it comes to international duty.
So far, about 4 players have withdrawn from the squad: Kudus Mohammed, Prince Kwabena Adu, Semenyo, and an unconfirmed report of Baba Rahman.
His comments have added to the ongoing discussion about player availability and commitment ahead of Ghana’s upcoming AFCON qualifying fixtures.
