Hon. Abubakar Sedik DCE clarifies school building’s role in 24-Hour Market Project

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has clarified that a school building identified for the district’s proposed 24-hour market project will not be demolished.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Hon. Abubakar Sedik explained that the school building had been redundant and would instead be incorporated into the broader development plan.

He stressed that the 24-hour market project is not about demolishing a school to make way for a market.

According to the DCE, the proposed facility will include schools as part of its development, ensuring that educational infrastructure remains an integral component of the project.

“It’s not demolishing a school to build a market. The 24-hour market will include schools,” he said.

The clarification follows concerns and public discussions surrounding the use of the school facility for the proposed project.

Hon. Abubakar Sedik assured residents that the government’s intention is to develop the area in a manner that accommodates both commercial and educational needs.
