Aseɛ hɔ Number 4 Means Victory Is Coming – Dr. China Unveils WILD Agenda For NPP

Aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Charles Dwamena, popularly known as Dr. China, says his number 4 position on the ballot symbolizes victory and perfectly aligns with his WILD agenda to make the elephant wild for 2028.

Speaking to the media a day after balloting and immediately after the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday, Dr. Dwamena expressed excitement about picking number 4, which he described as “Aseɛ hɔ” – to wit, looking down on the ballot paper.

“Yesterday was another great day in the quest to be the next General Secretary. We went to pick our nomination form, filed the forms, went for vetting, and of the four people, we are quite excited at the outcome. Then we went for balloting, and I got Asiaho number 4. So victory is coming from Asiaho,” he said.

According to him, number 4 represents his WILD agenda, a four-letter word vision to transform the NPP into a winning machine for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“It so happens that number 4 also represents the WILD agenda I’m promoting. I’m saying it’s time to make the elephant WILD, and a wild elephant with the proper security architecture is victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. So the WILD plus S agenda coincides with number 4. The word WILD is a four-letter word, W-I-L-D,” he explained.

Breaking down the WILD agenda, Dr. Dwamena said the first letter W stands for Welfare.

“I believe for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to get a stronger party to win in 2028, the party has to take steps to ensure that every party member gets welfare benefits. That is why I’m proposing to set up a Department of Welfare within the NPP that will be primarily responsible for ensuring that all party members in good standing derive welfare benefits. When the person gets these welfare benefits, this person will not wait for somebody to convince him to go vote for Dr. Bawumia,” he said.

The second letter, I, he said, stands for Improving party communication through a proactive model.

“My proactive model is two-pronged. First, I believe every executive of the party, from polling station to national, is a politician, and every politician is a communicator. If we have over 200,000 executive members from polling station upwards, we should equally have over 200,000 communicators. We will resource elected communication officers to train polling station, electoral area and constituency officers to sharpen their skills. Not to bring them to the capital to communicate, but so that wherever they are – at the market, fitting shop, schools, hospitals – they will communicate the message of Dr. Bawumia and the message of hope to Ghanaians they encounter daily,” he stated.

“The second prong is the digital space. I am pushing for at least one befitting podcast studio per region, and expand to constituencies. We will also identify those doing freelance, put them into a group, help them regulate themselves, and give them resources and training so they all speak from the same page,” he added.

Dr. Dwamena explained that L stands for Leveraging research and digital solutions to attract the youth, persons with disabilities and the marginalized.

“I believe in research. I use research a lot, and research makes things easier. It will help us avoid pitfalls. There are a lot of constituencies we can easily snatch back with proper research,” he said.

Finally, D is for Discipline.

“If Dr. Charles Dwamena is noted for anything in this party, it is about his discipline. That is why I have been able to restore financial discipline in this party as National Treasurer. And if we have been able to do so as Treasurer, then certainly when given the opportunity as General Secretary, I will instil discipline in the rank and file,” he stressed.

The WILD agenda, he noted, comes with an S, which stands for Security architecture to guide the wild elephant to victory.

“For this four-letter agenda to come into fruition, you need to vote number 4. Aseɛ hɔ, when you pick the paper, you don’t look left, you don’t look right, you don’t look up, you look down. And when you look down, you find number 4. Asiaho is bringing about welfare, improving communication, using research, and discipline. That will make the party strong and the elephant wild. Once the elephant gets wild and we have the proper security in place to guide it, it is sure-banker victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and we will go back to Jubilee House,” Dr. China concluded.

Dr. Charles Dwamena is the current National Treasurer of the NPP and one of four aspirants contesting the General Secretary position.

The NPP will hold its National Delegates Conference on October 3, 2026 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to elect new national executives to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
