“I Don’t See Men In This Contest, I See Boys – I’m The One Intimidating Them” – Vera Oye Bram Larbi Fires After Vetting For NPP Youth Organiser

Aspiring National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vera Oye Bram Larbi, says she is not intimidated by her male competitors, insisting she is the one intimidating them in the race.

Speaking to the media after her vetting at the NPP headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, 2nd September 2026, the only female in the contest said she came prepared because she has served the youth wing for over 18 years.

“Not at all. You can’t just come from somewhere to contest to be the next National Youth Organiser. You have to weigh the pros and cons, know what it entails, and I did my due diligence before declaring my intention. I know people think it’s a male-dominated field and all that, but it’s an area that I’ve served for over 18 years. I’ve been with the party and I’ve been with the youth wing, so I know what to do as a National Youth Organiser. I came prepared. I came ready for them,” she said.

When asked if she felt intimidated by the men in the contest, Vera was blunt:

“Do you see any man in the contest? I see boys. I came in as a female, not a girl, as a female. We are vying for the position as Youth Organiser. I don’t see any intimidation. I think I’m the one intimidating them. They go around, and the only campaign they do is to mention my name. You think they are not intimidated? I am not intimidated,” she fired.

She described her vetting as successful and like a home affair with party elders who know her capacity.

“The vetting was a success. I was in there with our venerable executives. They are no strangers. Our senior colleagues in the party. We know them and they know us. They know our ability, so it was just like a reminder. And I can only wish the three guys remaining well, because I know that I’ve done my part, and I’m the only person who can deliver the youth wing, not them. But I can wish them well in their loss,” she stated.

Vera Oye Bram Larbi is contesting to become the next National Youth Organiser of the NPP, a position considered crucial for mobilizing the youth base ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The NPP will converge at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on October 3, 2026 to elect new national executives.
