On 24th July 2026, Comrade Isaac K. N. Batun (Major Batun), Aspiring National Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), had the honour of attending the Memorial Program of the late H.E. Professor John Evans Atta Mills, alongside the family of our late President, H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin (Speaker of Parliament), Hon. Mahama Ayariga (Majority Leader), Hon. Julius Debrah (Chief of Staff), Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey (General Secretary of the NDC), Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (Minister for Foreign Affairs), diplomats, traditional rulers, party faithful, and other distinguished dignitaries from across Ghana and around the world.
The memorial ceremony served as a solemn reminder of the extraordinary life of a statesman whose humility, integrity, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to public service continued to inspire generations. It was a privilege to join many others in celebrating the life and values of a leader whose impact on Ghana remained timeless.
Fourteen (14) years after his passing, the legacy of Professor John Evans Atta Mills continued to shine brightly. His life remained a powerful symbol of peace, unity, humility, and selfless leadership, inspiring all who believed that true leadership was measured by service to humanity.
May God Almighty and Allah continue to grant the gentle soul of Professor John Evans Atta Mills eternal rest. May his remarkable legacy continue to guide our nation and inspire future generations.
