ORAL Initiative Rated One of Government’s Poorest-Performing Areas

Pollster Mussah Dankwah has suggested that how Ghanaians perceive the government’s performance on Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) could shape public support for the proposed regional tribunals.

Referencing the June 2026 Global InfoAnalytics national tracking poll, Dankwah noted that ORAL was rated the joint fourth worst-performing area of government, with 29 percent of respondents citing it as an area of poor performance.

Only three issues ranked as equal or greater concerns: employment (44 percent), the economy (32 percent), and the ongoing power crisis, or “dumsor” (29 percent). The fight against galamsey followed closely behind at 26 percent.

“In the June 2026 national tracking poll, ORAL was the fourth worst area of performance for the government,” Dankwah said.

He went on to raise questions about whether these perceptions could carry over into public opinion on the government’s plan to establish regional tribunals, asking: “Could voters’ perception of ORAL performance impact on how they view the introduction of the regional tribunals?”
