Reshuffling ministers to different sectors is somehow wrong because the ministers were only vetted for specifics sector – Hon Osei Kyei Mensah

Former Majority Leader and Member of Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has raised concerns about the practice of reshuffling ministers to different government sectors, arguing that such moves may undermine the purpose of parliamentary vetting.
Speaking on Kessben TV, the veteran politician stated that ministerial nominees are thoroughly vetted based on the specific ministries they are expected to lead.
According to him, transferring ministers to entirely different sectors after approval by Parliament raises questions about whether they possess the expertise and knowledge required for their new roles.
Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu noted that while ministerial reshuffles are constitutionally permissible, assigning ministers to unfamiliar sectors could affect policy implementation and governance efficiency. He emphasized the need for careful consideration when making such changes to ensure that ministers are adequately prepared for the responsibilities of their new portfolios.
