‘Experience Every Goal’ – MultiChoice Ghana Promises Full 2026 World Cup Coverage from GH¢58

MultiChoice Ghana says this year’s FIFA World Cup will be the “most accessible ever” for Ghanaian viewers, with all 104 matches available live and in HD from just GH¢58 per month on DStv.
Speaking at the launch of the World Cup season, Mr. Alex Okyere, Managing Director of MultiChoice Ghana, said the company’s goal is simple: “Ghana is to ensure that the fans across country can experience every goal… every story, and all the unforgettable moments as it happens.”
48 Nations, 104 Matches, 39 Days of Football
The 2026 tournament, running from June 11 to July 19, will be historic on multiple fronts. For the first time, *48 nations* will compete – up from 32 in past editions – with 104 matches* played over 39 days across three host countries: USA, Mexico and Canada.
“This is the biggest World Cup ever,” Okyere said. “The opening match is going to be at Mexico City, final in New Jersey. This is the first ever World Cup that is being played in three countries.”
Ghana’s qualification was highlighted as a major achievement. “It’s not easy to be there… our friends to the east were not able to. So Ghana is there, we are part of the 48 countries,” he noted.
Africa will have record representation with *10 nations*: South Africa, Senegal, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, and others. “This is the first World Cup that we are having 10 African nations representing,” Okyere said.
Every Package Gets All Matches
To make coverage accessible, MultiChoice says *every DStv package from the lowest tier will get all 104 live matches in HD*. The entry point is *DStv Padi at GH¢58/month. GoTV subscribers on Plus and above will also get full access.
“We call this the most accessible World Cup ever,” Okyere stated. “The World Cup is just going for GH¢58. 58 Ghana cedis, and you get 104 live matches in HD.”
To handle simultaneous group games, MultiChoice is launching dedicated 24-hour SuperSport World Cup channels* – something he said “FTA friends cannot show.” There will also be:
1. A pop-up bonus channel for expanded coverage
2. Expert analysis and magazine shows* featuring World Cup legends
3. Key language commentary – three commentary options, including local languages
4. Catch-up and streaming via DStv Stream for viewing on mobile or laptop
“Everything else can wait,” Okyere added. “Some matches will be late – our first match is at 11pm, will end around 1am, discussions till 3am. Sleep can wait. It’s non-stop football.”
‘Go Black Stars, Go Ghana’
Referencing Idris Elba’s World Cup promo, Okyere said while the actor may not care who wins, Ghanaians do. “He said his mom is from Ghana, so he should have said ‘Actually, I care. Ghana should win, right?’ So we care, we want Ghana to win. Go Ghana, Go Black Stars.”
With coverage across satellite and streaming, MultiChoice says fans won’t miss a moment of the expanded 48-team tournament.
