Akabenezer pays hospital bill of GH¢76,026 for patients at KATH after returning from his O2 London concert

Ghanaian actor and comedian Dr. Likee, widely known as Ras Nene, has extended support to several financially challenged patients at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi by settling their outstanding medical bills.

The charitable gesture took place on June 1, 2026, shortly after the actor returned from a comedy performance in London.

In collaboration with the N.B. Sika Foundation, established by Rosemond Nuamah-Mensah, popularly known as Nana Sika Bimpomaa, and Hubert Kyei-Mensah, also known as Overmars, Dr. Likee presented a cheque worth GH¢76,026 to the hospital. The amount was used to clear the medical debts of patients who were unable to afford their treatment costs.

Among the beneficiaries were mothers who had recently given birth but lacked the financial means to pay their hospital bills. Beyond settling the debts, Dr. Likee and his team also donated essential items to support both the mothers and their newborns.

The donated supplies included diapers, infant formula, and detergents.

Hospital management received the donation as part of ongoing efforts to support vulnerable patients and ease the financial difficulties faced by families dealing with healthcare expenses.

The initiative reflects Dr. Likee’s continued commitment to helping people in need, adding to the various humanitarian activities he and his associates have undertaken across Ghana.
