Education and health workers to receive arrears from May 29

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has assured affected education and health workers that payment of arrears dating back to August 2024 has commenced and will be completed in line with an approved schedule.

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has assured affected education and health workers that payment of arrears dating back to August 2024 has commenced and will be completed in line with an approved schedule.

In a statement signed by Head of Public Relations Cephas N. Dosoo, the Department said the disbursement process will be spread over four months, with each tranche covering four months of arrears.

Under the payment plan, affected beneficiaries will receive their arrears as follows:

  • May 2026: 4 months’ arrears
  • June 2026: 4 months’ arrears
  • July 2026: 4 months’ arrears
  • August 2026: 4 months’ arrears

CAGD further indicated that the first tranche of payments is expected to be fully completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.

The Department added that subsequent payments will continue strictly according to the approved schedule until all outstanding arrears are cleared.

It expressed appreciation to affected workers for their patience and cooperation throughout the process.
