Team Wontumi condemns personal attacks on officials, calls for issue-based NPP internal contest ahead of 2028

The Wontumi Campaign Team has condemned what it describes as “unwarranted insults and personal attacks” targeting members of its management team on TikTok, urging all sides to keep the NPP’s internal campaign focused on ideas and party unity.
In a statement issued Sunday, the campaign said it had taken notice of videos circulating on TikTok by an individual identified as “Boya.” The videos, it said, contained insults directed at Hon. Archibold Cobbina, Director of Field Operations and Delegate Mobilization; Hon. Moses Anim, Director of Political Affairs; Nana Fianko, Director of Special Operations; and other members of the team.
“By examining the public social media activities and affiliations of the said individual, it is not difficult for objective observers to determine the political tendency and Chairmanship bid she appears to support,” the statement noted, without naming any rival campaign.
Team Wontumi said it remains committed to an issue-based campaign centered on vision, competence, and party unity, in line with the approach of NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“It is still early days in this internal campaign season, and Team Wontumi remains firmly committed to a campaign based on ideas, vision, competence, and Party unity, not insults, intimidation, or needless character assassination,” the statement read.
The campaign urged the public and party faithful to disregard the videos and reject attempts to introduce hostility into the contest. It also called on the opposing campaign to rein in supporters and ensure the race remains respectful.
“We also respectfully call on the opposing campaign, whose sympathizers and surrogates appear to be behind these needless attacks, to rein in their supporters and ensure that this contest remains healthy, respectful, and focused on the collective interest of the New Patriotic Party,” it said.
Team Wontumi warned that internal hostility could undermine the party’s chances in 2028. “As a Party preparing towards victory in 2028, we must all remember that unity remains our greatest strength. We cannot afford to destroy one another today and expect to build a united front tomorrow.”
The campaign described itself as a broad-based movement drawing support from backers of nearly all presidential aspirants who contested the NPP’s 31 January presidential primary, saying this reflects its commitment to inclusion and reconciliation.
The team said it would continue engaging delegates respectfully as it seeks support for Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako’s bid for National Chairman.
