Ghana Appoints Former Brasília Head of Chancery Humphrey C. Ajongbah as Ambassador to Japan

The Government of Ghana has appointed Mr. Humphrey C. Ajongbah, former Head of Chancery at the Ghana Embassy in Brasília, as Ghana’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan.

Ambassador-designate Ajongbah was officially commissioned on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, by President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House in Accra.

His appointment has been met with praise within diplomatic circles, particularly among colleagues at the Ghana Mission in Brasília, where he served with distinction. During his tenure, Ajongbah earned a reputation for administrative efficiency, professionalism, and a strong commitment to advancing Ghana’s foreign policy interests in Brazil.

A career diplomat with years of experience in both bilateral and multilateral engagements, Ajongbah is expected to deepen Ghana-Japan cooperation across trade, technology transfer, industrial collaboration, education, infrastructure, and cultural diplomacy.
