A coconut that we used to buy at GHC5 during NPP’s time is now being sold at GHC20 – Kwaku Twumasi

Kwaku Twumasi has expressed concern over the rising cost of living in Ghana, claiming that the price of coconut has increased sharply in recent years.

Speaking on Kessben FM, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator stated that coconuts which were sold for GHC5 during the NPP administration are now being sold for as high as GHC20 in some areas.

According to him, the increasing prices of basic food items and commodities continue to place financial pressure on ordinary Ghanaians. He argued that the sharp rise in prices reflects the economic hardships many citizens are currently facing.

Mr. Twumasi used the coconut price comparison to highlight broader concerns about inflation and the cost of living, calling for measures to stabilize prices and improve economic conditions for households across the country.
