Chinese Business Leader Tang Hong Retains Top Community Role in Ghana

Tang Hong, the businessman behind Tang Palace Hotel and Chief Executive Officer of Caitec Group, has been re-elected President of the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies, reaffirming his long-standing influence within Ghana’s Chinese community.
The re-election took place during a colorful ceremony held on Saturday, where members of the association renewed their confidence in his leadership and vision for the Chinese community in Ghana.
Widely recognized as one of the most prominent Chinese business figures in the country, Tang Hong has led the Association for several years, helping to strengthen ties between Chinese investors, Ghanaian institutions, and the Chinese Embassy.
Under his leadership, the Association has evolved into a key platform promoting business cooperation, cultural exchange, and diplomatic engagement between Ghana and China.
Beyond his role in the hospitality and manufacturing sectors, Tang Hong has also been active in humanitarian and social interventions. The Association has over the years supported several charitable initiatives, including donations to the Ghana Police Service and fundraising efforts for victims affected by conflicts and displacement crises.
As Chairman of the Ghana Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tang Hong has consistently advocated responsible investment practices, encouraging Chinese businesses operating in Ghana to comply with local laws and deepen collaboration with Ghanaian enterprises.
Observers say his re-election comes at a significant time as Chinese investments continue to expand across major sectors of Ghana’s economy, including mining, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, and hospitality.
With a growing Chinese population living and working in Ghana, Tang Hong is widely viewed as a central figure in promoting cooperation, business growth, and mutual understanding between the two countries.
