Cosmos Pergeri Joins Bono Regional NPP Chairmanship Race

Pergeri Cosmos, a sales manager with a multinational organization, has officially declared his intention to contest the Bono Regional Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party.

Pergeri, known among party faithful for his grassroots organizing and long-standing service to the NPP, said his decision is driven by a desire to re-energize the party in the region and position it for victory in 2028.

“I am stepping forward because I believe the Bono Region needs a chairman who understands both grassroots mobilization and modern management,” Pergeri said. “My experience in the corporate world, combined with years of party service, puts me in a position to build a stronger, more responsive regional structure.”

*From TESCON Leadership to Regional Campaigns*

Pergeri’s political roots trace back to the University College of Management Studies, where he served as *TESCON President in 2008*. During that election year, he was part of the team deployed to the Volta Region for the second-round runoff, working to secure votes in one of the NPP’s most challenging terrains.

“That experience taught me the value of discipline, early preparation, and direct engagement with voters,” he recalled. “It is the same spirit I want to bring to the Bono Region.”

Since then, Pergeri has remained active in party affairs, supporting constituency and regional activities while building a career in sales and business management. He said his corporate background has sharpened his skills in resource mobilization, team coordination, and performance-driven leadership—skills he intends to apply in managing the regional party machinery.

Focus on Structure, Youth, and 2028

Outlining his priorities, Pergeri said his campaign would focus on three areas: strengthening constituency structures, expanding youth and women participation, and creating a data-driven mobilization system ahead of 2028.

“The party wins when its base is strong. We must resource our constituencies, empower our polling station executives, and make sure young people see a future in the NPP,” he said.

He also emphasized the need for transparency and inclusivity in internal party processes, promising to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure a united front in the region.

A Call for Unity

Pergeri called on party members in Bono to focus on unity and results rather than division. He noted that the region played a critical role in the NPP’s electoral fortunes and must be repositioned as a stronghold for the 2028 contest.

“We cannot afford to go into 2028 fragmented. My leadership will be about bringing people together, building capacity, and delivering results that make our base proud,” he said.

The NPP is expected to hold regional executive elections later this year as part of its internal reorganization ahead of the 2028 general elections. Pergeri joins a growing list of aspirants seeking to lead the party in Bono.

Party insiders say the contest is likely to center on who can best mobilize resources, manage internal cohesion, and prepare the region for a high-stakes election cycle.
