Man Arrested in Jacobu for Threatening Police and Military in Viral Video

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man identified as *Opoku Emmanuel* for allegedly issuing death threats against police and military personnel in a viral video.
The arrest was carried out on Thursday, May 7, 2026, by the Inspector General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) in collaboration with officers at Jacobu, Amansie Central District.
According to the police, the suspect appeared in a viral video wearing a mask, warning officers against attempting to arrest armed robbers. In the video, he threatened to kill any officer who engaged him.
Police say Opoku Emmanuel is currently in custody and will be arraigned before court.
The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by the police to clamp down on online threats and incitement to violence targeting security personnel.
The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to refrain from making or sharing content that incites violence against law enforcement officers.
