Campaign Team celebrates Hon Boakye Agyarko on his birthday
Campaign Manager Henry Quartey has extended a birthday tribute to former Energy Minister Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko, describing him as a “remarkable academic, politician, and true inspiration” while endorsing his bid to become the next National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
In a statement released Thursday by the “Boakye Agyarko 4 National Chairman” campaign team, Quartey praised Agyarko’s “unwavering commitment to unity and dedicated service,” saying his mentorship “instills hope and confidence in a brighter future across our various endeavors.”
“May God bless you with good health, long life, greater happiness, and continued success,” the statement read.
Eye on National Chairman Race
Quartey said the campaign team hopes the NPP will elect Agyarko as National Chairman in the party’s upcoming national executive elections. He expressed confidence in Agyarko’s ability to “build a strong, disciplined, formidable, and a solid party” that would serve as “a firm anchor” for Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The statement tied Agyarko’s leadership potential to the broader vision of “Development in Freedom,” a phrase associated with the NPP’s founding ideals.

Agyarko’s Political Profile
Boakye Agyarko, an economist and banker by training, previously served as Ghana’s Minister for Energy from 2017 to 2018. He has been a longstanding member of the NPP and contested the party’s 2023 presidential primaries. He is now seeking to lead the party as National Chairman as it reorganizes following the 2024 elections.
The NPP is expected to hold its national executive elections later this year to elect new officers who will steer the party into the 2028 election cycle. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s current flagbearer, is seeking to lead the NPP back to power after its defeat in 2024.
Quartey, a former Greater Accra Regional Minister and MP for Ayawaso Central, is serving as campaign manager for Agyarko’s chairman bid through the “Campaign Team Worldwide.”
The birthday message comes as various aspirants begin mobilizing support ahead of what is expected to be a competitive contest for the party’s top organizational role.
