Wofa Kofi Appiah urges Authorities to conduct integrity tests on Ghana’s story buildings

Following a building collapse in Accra on Sunday, media personality Wofa Kofi Appiah has called on authorities to conduct urgent structural integrity tests on storey buildings across Ghana.
Speaking on his morning show, Kessben Maakye, Appiah expressed concern over the safety of many multi-storey structures, warning that several may be vulnerable due to weak enforcement of building regulations.
“A lot of storey buildings in Ghana need integrity tests,” he stressed, urging city authorities and regulatory bodies to act swiftly to prevent further incidents.
The collapse has once again brought attention to issues within the construction sector, including substandard materials, inadequate supervision, and non-compliance with approved building plans.
While details surrounding the cause of the collapse are still under investigation, the incident has sparked public concern about the safety of buildings in urban centers, particularly in Accra.
