If we are serious and do our things well, Ghana could even export Tomatoes to Burkina in 6 months – Wofa Kofi Appiah

Host of Kessben Maakye, Wofa Kofi Appiah has expressed optimism about Ghana’s agricultural potential following Burkina Faso’s reported suspension of tomato exports.

Reacting to the development on Kessben FM, he stated that Ghana could turn the situation into an economic opportunity if the country strengthens its agricultural systems. “If we do our things well here in Ghana, in six months’ time, even Burkina Faso will come to import tomatoes,” he said.

Wofa Kofi Appiah noted that the temporary halt in tomato exports from Burkina Faso presents a chance for Ghanaian farmers to increase production and meet both local and regional demand. He emphasized the need for improved farming practices, investment in irrigation, and better post-harvest management.

According to him, with the right policies and support, Ghana can reduce reliance on imports and position itself as a key exporter within the sub-region.
