BREAKING: PURC announces House-to-House taskforce to deal with utility issues

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in the Ashanti Region has announced plans to deploy a taskforce to engage directly with consumers at the household level.
Speaking on Kessben FM with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, the Ashanti Regional Manager of PURC, Edward Bodua, revealed that the initiative is aimed at strengthening regulatory enforcement and improving customer service. According to him, the taskforce will move from house to house to monitor compliance, educate the public, and receive complaints from consumers.
Mr. Bodua explained that the move is part of efforts to bridge the gap between utility providers and consumers, ensuring that issues such as billing discrepancies, service interruptions, and unfair practices are promptly addressed.
“We are forming a taskforce that will go house to house to enforce regulations and also take complaints directly from the people,” he stated during the interview.
He emphasized that the approach will make it easier for residents to voice their concerns without having to visit PURC offices, thereby enhancing accessibility and responsiveness.
The PURC boss further assured the public of the Commission’s commitment to protecting consumer interests while ensuring that utility service providers adhere strictly to established regulations.
The initiative is expected to improve accountability in the utilities sector and foster greater trust between consumers and service providers across the Ashanti Region.
