Weeds take over Sewua Hospital as thieves steal medical equipment

The Sewua Hospital in the Ashanti Region is reportedly facing neglect as weeds have taken over parts of the facility while thieves are said to have stolen some medical equipment from the premises.
According to a report by Ato Kwamina on Kessben FM, sections of the hospital compound have become overgrown with weeds, raising concerns about maintenance and security at the newly commissioned health facility.
The hospital was commissioned in January 2025 by the outgoing former President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and was expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in the Ashanti Region and surrounding communities.
However, the reported theft of medical equipment and the poor state of the hospital environment have sparked concerns among residents and observers who fear the situation could undermine the purpose of the facility.
Stakeholders are therefore calling on the appropriate authorities to urgently address the situation by clearing the weeds, improving security, and ensuring that the hospital is properly maintained to serve the public effectively.
