Trump’s ‘Reckless Diplomacy’ Blamed for Rising Global Oil Prices – Nichiren Appiah Buadi

Story: Maurice Otoo

Concerns are mounting over the impact of rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East on global crude oil prices, with Nichiren Appiah Buadi, National Democratic Congress’ communication member, accusing U.S. President Donald Trump of pursuing what they describe as reckless diplomatic actions that could destabilize the region.

In a discussion on Kessben Maakye today, he argue that recent comments and policies attributed to Trump have intensified hostilities involving Iran, raising fears of a broader conflict that could disrupt global energy supplies.

He claimed, the decision to establish or strengthen military presence in countries such as Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates as part of operations targeting Iran risks escalating tensions across the Gulf region.

Nichiren warned that such geopolitical uncertainty has already begun pushing crude oil prices upward on the international market. He added that , Trump’s reckless utterance caused a price surge to as high as $ 120 thousand per barrel, significantly increase that has great impact on global market.

The situation has also sparked debate in Ghana about the country’s energy security. Nichiren again said ,it is unfortunate that nearly seven decades after independence, Ghana’s petroleum reserves may only sustain the nation for about five weeks in the event of major supply disruptions.

He is therefore calling for stronger strategic reserves and long-term policies to protect the country from external shocks, especially as global tensions continue to threaten stability in the oil market.

He warn that unless diplomatic solutions are prioritized, the ongoing Middle East tensions could have far-reaching consequences for fuel prices and economies around the world.
