Ghanaian musician Yaw Siki, known for his popular song “Wope Dodo”, has made a surprising announcement – he will not accept any revenue generated from the sale and distribution of the song, deeming it an “unholy song”.
In an interview with Mr. Foxx on Kessben FM’s Drive show, Isaac Okai popularly known as Yaw Siki explained that despite the song’s continued presence on streaming platforms and revenue generation, he is not interested in receiving any proceeds. “I’m the author of the song, and I know the intention behind it,” he stated.
The gospel musician-turned-hitmaker emphasized that nothing will compel him to accept revenue from “Wope Dodo”, unless it is disguised as a gift. “I’m sure Killbeats and other producers will still receive some revenue from the song, but as for me, I’m not interested,” he said.
