President Mahama extends warm Ramadan wishes to Muslims

President John Dramani Mahama has extended warm greetings to Muslims in Ghana and across the world as they prepare to observe the holy month of Ramadan.

In a message, President, together with the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, conveyed their heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community at the start of the sacred period of fasting and prayer.

“Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh! As we stand at the threshold of this blessed month of Ramadan, Lordina and I extend our warmest greetings to you and your families,” he said.

President Mahama described Ramadan as “a special time; a month of reflection, renewal, and coming together as one community,” urging Muslims to embrace its spiritual significance.

“As you begin your fast, may your hearts be purified and your imān strengthened. May Allah, the Most Merciful, grant you good health, peace of mind, and abundant mercies throughout these thirty days,” he stated.

He prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the faithful, adding, “May your prayers be answered, your good deeds be accepted, and may this Ramadan bring you closer to your Creator and to one another.”

The President also encouraged Muslims to uphold the values of compassion and generosity throughout the month, particularly towards the less privileged.

“As you break your fast each evening with family and friends, remember that the true beauty of Ramadan lies not just in abstaining from food, but in the discipline, compassion, and generosity we show to all, especially to those less fortunate,” he noted.

President Mahama called for unity and peace during the holy month, urging citizens to strengthen bonds within their communities and across the country.

“Let us use this holy month to strengthen the bonds of unity, love, and peace in our communities and across our beloved Ghana,” he added.

He concluded the message with a prayer for a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, saying, “From my family, we wish you a spiritually fulfilling and blessed Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak! May Allah accept your worship.”
