Former Chief Justice Torkonoo was Never witch-Hunted by the Mahama Gov’t – Wallas Ababio
Wallas Ababio has dismissed claims that former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo was witch-hunted under the government of John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking on Kessben FM during a discussion hosted by Wofa Kofi Appiah, Mr. Ababio stated that assertions of political persecution against Justice Torkornoo are unfounded and misleading.
According to him, the Mahama administration respected the independence of the judiciary and did not interfere in the work of the former Chief Justice. He argued that criticisms and public commentary surrounding judicial matters should not be misconstrued as targeted attacks or witch-hunting.
Mr. Ababio emphasized the need for balanced public discourse, urging political actors and commentators to avoid politicizing issues concerning the judiciary.
He maintained that Ghana’s democratic institutions must be protected through responsible commentary and adherence to constitutional processes.
