Lecturers like Prof. Edward Brenya of KNUST need to be incorporated in educational administration by the government – Jerry James Sukah (Papa Jay)

Aspiring Ashanti Regional Deputy Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry James Sukah, popularly known as Papa Jay, has called on the government to incorporate experienced academics into educational administration.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Papa Jay specifically mentioned Prof. Edward Brenya of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as an example of the kind of expertise the country should be tapping into.

According to him, seasoned lecturers who possess deep knowledge of policy, governance, and research can play a critical role in shaping and reforming Ghana’s education sector. He argued that bringing such individuals into educational administration would help bridge the gap between academic theory and practical policy implementation.

Papa Jay stressed that the country’s education system requires innovative thinking and evidence-based decision-making, which he believes experienced scholars like Prof. Brenya can provide. He maintained that involving top academics in leadership and advisory roles would strengthen institutional reforms and improve overall outcomes.
