
The President of Worldwide Miracles Outreach, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, has urged couples to redefine the meaning of Valentine’s Day, saying the occasion should focus on strengthening marriages and building peaceful homes rather than only romance.
Speaking at the awards and dinner night organised by the Peace and Love Foundation on February 14, Dr. Tetteh stressed that marriage thrives on love, patience and understanding.
According to him, marriage is ordained by God and can endure when partners prioritise mutual respect and communication.
Drawing from his 35 years of marriage, he encouraged the younger generation to emulate values that sustain long-lasting unions.
“Valentine’s Day should be a day to express love and foster peace in our homes,” he noted.
Promoting Peace from the Home
Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Gladys Biney, said the event , themed, Building a Peaceful Nation from a Peaceful Home, aimed at encouraging harmony within families as a pathway to national development.
She urged couples to nurture love and unity in their households, adding that societal peace begins with stable families.
The foundation honoured 35 individuals for their efforts in transforming lives within their communities.
Among the awardees was Kate Amoakoa Nyamedea, President of God is Good and Crystal Crown Ladies, who expressed appreciation for the recognition.
She explained that her philanthropic work includes visiting hospitals, charity homes and care facilities to offer support and hope to vulnerable people.
The ceremony attracted several prominent musicians including Akosua Agyapong, Jack Alolome and Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, who were also honoured for their contributions toward social transformation.
The organisers expressed optimism that the initiative would encourage families across the country to embrace love, tolerance and unity as the foundation for national peace.
