91% Ghanaians express concern over rising prices – IEA survey

A nationwide survey conducted by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) found that 91% of respondents are worried about the cost of food and other consumer goods. Among them, 71% said they are “very concerned,” while 20% described themselves as “somewhat concerned.” Only **9% indicated they are not troubled by current price levels.
The IEA observed that “issues relating to basic necessities persist and demand urgent intervention.”
The survey, carried out in December 2025 and involving more than 1,000 participants, assessed public sentiment on the economy and governance one year after the 2024 general elections.
Although a significant number of respondents expressed satisfaction with the President’s performance, the findings suggest that the high cost of living remains a major issue shaping public opinion and economic confidence.
