Ernest Chemists launches 40th anniversary with employment creation of over 1,500 Ghanaians

A leading Pharmaceutical company in the country Ernest Chemists Limited has launched its 40th anniversary celebration with the commitment of providing direct employment to over 1,500 Ghanaians across the country.
Line up of activities to celebrate the year long occasion include social and health related projects aimed at supporting customers, communities staff as well as the grand commissioning of it’s state-of-the art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) factory.
The company has 25 wholesale and 25 retail out lets, manufacturing and warehousing facilities across the country and branches in some African countries.
Speaking at the anniversary ceremony in Accra under the theme, ‘’Providing Quality and Affordable Medicines, the Minister of Health, Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akando in a speech read on his behalf, by Dr. Hafez Adam Taher, Director of Technical Coordination said the company have generated jobs across the country.
‘’ Government have applauded the company for making huge impact on it’s brand by providing quality and affordable medicines, adding that with the right leadership exhibited by the Founder and have make Ghana to be among the best in the manufacture of quality pharmaceutical products’’. he said
He added that Mr. Ernest Bediako Sampong has mentored and share experiences with local pharmaceutical companies making them to have competitive edge over foreign companies and therefore urged management to embark on expansion drive beyond Ghana for the needed support from government to make the country the pharmaceutical manufacturing hub in Africa.
For her part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) OF Ernest Chemists Ltd, Madam Adjoa Akyema Sampong said the company still remained guided by its core principles and brand promise to provide quality and affordable medicines
‘’ Our retail out lets provides free health services including blood pressure checks, random diagnostic testing , weight and BMI measurement and health counselling’’, she said, adding that the Founder and Chairman of the company, Mr Ernest Sampong have been instrumental in the growth and development of the company.
The General Manager, Manufacturing of ECL, Nana Yaw Nyarko – Sefah , said the company have the largest pharmaceutical chain in the country and produces 250 different finished products for the Ghanaian and the West Africa markets.
In a related development, the occasion was also used to unveil the 40th anniversary new logo geared towards the company’s mission and vision in the coming years.
