Host of Kessben Drive, Fante Quoo has condemned the practice of students carrying dangerous items such as scissors and knives to school sports events, describing it as “nonsense” and completely unacceptable.
Speaking on his show on Kessben FM, Fante Quoo expressed deep concern over reports of students bringing weapons to stadiums during inter-schools games. He stressed that such behavior poses a serious threat to safety and undermines the spirit of school sports.
According to him, inter-schools competitions are meant to promote unity, discipline, and healthy rivalry, especially in football. “This is a soccer competition, not a violent competition,” he said, urging all stakeholders to take the issue seriously.
Fante Quoo called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) and teachers to be firm and proactive in addressing the problem. He emphasized that school authorities must “stamp their feet” by enforcing strict rules, conducting thorough checks, and educating students on proper sportsmanship.
He appealed to students to see sports as a platform for fun and talent development, not an avenue for aggression, adding that ensuring safety at school games is a shared responsibility.
