I don’t carry myself around as a celebrity. Most of my church members are Americans, Asians, & Jamaicans, they only realize the stardom aspect online – Sonnie Badu

Renowned gospel musician and minister Sonnie Badu has shared a refreshing perspective on fame, emphasizing humility and spiritual focus over celebrity status.

Speaking on Kessben TV with host Mr. Bonez, Badu revealed that he does not carry himself as a celebrity, especially within his church community.

According to him, most members of his church are Americans, Asians, and Jamaicans who relate to him primarily as a pastor and worship leader, not a star.

“They only realize the stardom aspect online,” Badu explained, highlighting how social media often shapes public perception in ways that differ from real-life interactions.

His remarks underscore a deliberate choice to separate ministry from fame, reinforcing his commitment to service, faith, and authenticity.
