Drive Safe, Stay Safe: MTTD & Guinness Ghana Launch Festive Road Safety Campaign

The Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the GhanaPoliceService, in collaboration with Guinness Ghana PLC and with support from the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, has embarked on a one-week festive season road safety and responsible speeding and drink driving campaign aimed at reducing road crashes during the yuletide.
The festive season is often characterised by increased travel and social activities, which heighten the risk of road traffic accidents, particularly those linked to impaired driving and excessive speeding. In response to these concerns, the joint campaign commenced on Thursday, 18th December 2025, with the objective of promoting safe road use and encouraging responsible driving behaviours during this critical period.
As part of the exercise, the team visited major road corridors, including the Accra-Nsawam Kumasi Highway (N6) and the Anyaa Awoshie Road. Motorists were sensitized on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and were reminded to adhere strictly to stipulated speed limits to ensure their safety and that of other road users.
Drivers who voluntarily submitted to breathalyser tests and tested negative were rewarded with branded ‘T’ shirts and other souvenirs bearing the inscriptions “Your Eye for Clear” and “Don’t Booze, Just Cruise.” The initiative was warmly received, with many motorists expressing appreciation to the Ghana Police Service MTTD and Guinness Ghana PLC for the intervention.
The organisers indicated that the campaign would be extended to other road corridors across the country.
