Ghanaians Vote for Vision, Not Wealth — Dr. Bawumia Declares in Dormaa West

Story by: Derrick Owusu

Former Vice President and flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has declared that Ghana’s development hinges on visionary and innovative leadership rather than personal riches.

Speaking to party supporters and residents in the Dormaa West constituency as part of his Bono Region tour, Dr. Bawumia said elections in Ghana are won based on the strength of ideas and the ability to improve lives, not on displays of wealth or material possessions.

“Ghanaians do not vote based on personal wealth but on the ideas a candidate offers,” Dr. Bawumia stated. “No one uses their own money to develop a country. You cannot ask people to look at your properties and vote for you. What truly matters are the ideas you present to the electorate — ideas that can transform lives and drive national development.”

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that his campaign is focused on practical and transformative policies aimed at strengthening the economy, creating jobs, and ensuring inclusive growth across all sectors.

“It is not about money; it is about vision and ideas, and that is what I bring,” he added.

The NPP flagbearer hopeful reiterated that leadership is about innovation, integrity, and commitment to the people, not the flaunting of wealth or power. He called on delegates and citizens to support a vision-driven agenda that prioritizes sustainable development and opportunities for all.

Dr. Bawumia’s Bono Region tour forms part of his broader engagement with party members and citizens across the country as he makes a case for his leadership vision ahead of the NPP’s flagbearer selection process.
