Small Scale Miners are totally different from Galamseyers – Micheal Preprah, President of Concerned Small-Scale Miners

Michael Preprah, President for Concern Small Scale Miners has clarified the assertion of people associating small-scale miners’ involvement in galamsey, describing it as untrue.
Speaking on Kessben with Kojo Preko Dankwah, Michael explained that small-scale miners are self-policing association who are there to assist the government in fighting Galamsey through patrolling in Galamsey sites.
He revealed, no one can mine 100m on river bodies, it is illegal. Those who indulge in galamsey on our water bodies are illegal miners, not small-scale miners. He said.
Michael Preprah emphasized on their call to see to it that small-scale miners adhere to the rules and regulations and not do their own will.
He highlighted their contributions in supporting the government in the fight against galamsey with pickups, Speed Bolts worth 200,000 dollars to patrol around the water bodies to find those involved in galamsey, adding the collaboration with Naimos to help fight galamsey.”
“Our work is closely aligned with the Blue Water Guards’ work in the fight against galamsey. Our call is to show enough goodwill and to justify the assertion of people towards small-scale miners’ involvement in galamsey.” He said.
