Losses incurred by Ghana Water Company are attributed to Galamsey – Ahenkorah Marfo
Ranking Committee on Water and Sanitation and the member of parliament for Achiase expressed his concern on the losses incurred by Ghana Water Company and attributed it to Galamsey.”
In an interview with Kojo Preko Dankwah on Kessben TV, Honorable Ahenkorah mentioned that, Ghana Water had a meeting with the ranking committee to support them financially adding that, the chemicals used to improve water has become costly”
According to Ahenkorah, Ghana water did not discuss the 250% adjustment tariff with them”
He again stated that, Ghana Water complained about the illegal means people use in selling water without their consent”.
Ahenkorah made emphasis on the responsibility of Ghana Water Company in providing portable water to small villages”.
He also highlighted the non-payment of tax by some people creating loses for the company stressing the non-functionality of most pipelines becoming a factor for their loses.
“A major challenge for Ghana Water Company is the water destroyed as a result of Galamsey, Galamsey is having a negative impact on us”, he adds
