Government should clamp down on online insults followed by apologies – Fante Quoo, Host of Kessben Drive

Fante Quoo, host of Kessben FM’s Drive Time Show, has added his voice to a growing call for stricter regulations on social media behavior.
Speaking on his show on Tuesday, he asserted that the government must “clamp down on people who deliberately come on social media to insult and later come and apologize.”
Fante Quoo’s statement highlights a trend that is both troubling and widespread: individuals, many of whom have significant followings, intentionally post offensive, defamatory, or inflammatory content to generate attention, only to later issue apologies when backlash becomes overwhelming or when legal consequences loom.
This cycle of insult-and-apologize has become a tactic for some users to gain virality. They create outrage, knowing it will drive engagement, and then offer a seemingly heartfelt apology to mitigate the damage. However, the harm is often already done, reputations are smeared, tensions are heightened, and public discourse becomes toxic.
Fante Quoo argues that this behavior undermines the credibility and purpose of social platforms. “You can’t just wake up, insult elders or leaders or innocent people, gain traction, and then think an apology fixes everything,” he stated passionately on air.
The media personality believes that apologies, while important, should not be used as a shield from consequences. He is calling on the government to take decisive action, suggesting that such deliberate acts of digital misconduct should be met with legal or regulatory sanctions.
