Kessben Media in collaboration with Kessben Outreach Foundation donate items worth GHC100,000 to Kumasi central prisons

Kessben TV, in collaboration with the Kessben Outreach Foundation, has donated essential items valued at over GHC100,000 to inmates at the Kumasi Central Prisons. The gesture marks the first edition of the Kessben Outreach Foundation Midyear Prisons Donation Initiative, aimed at supporting the welfare of inmates across the country.

The donation included food supplies, toiletries, sanitary items, and other daily essentials intended to enhance the living conditions of the inmates. The initiative is a reflection of Kessben’s commitment to giving back to society, particularly to marginalized and underserved communities.

The event was graced by notable figures from the Kessben family. Mr. Sammy Adu Boakye, General Manager of the Kessben Outreach Foundation, led the team and underscored the purpose of the initiative. “This is just the beginning of our commitment to bring hope to those behind bars. We believe in transformation and second chances, and this donation is a sign that society has not forgotten about them,” he remarked.

Also present was Mr. Andrews Aninkorah, General Manager of Kessben Media, who spoke about the media group’s broader vision for social impact.

The outreach team included some of Kessben Media’s most beloved on-air personalities, such as Frederick Acheampong, Oheneba Kwame Nyame Mekke, and Wofa Kofi Appiah, who interacted with both prison officials and inmates, bringing words of encouragement and support.

Prison authorities expressed their gratitude, highlighting the significance of such donations in improving inmate welfare. A senior officer at the Kumasi Central Prisons commended the initiative, stating, “We appreciate this kind gesture. It will go a long way to meet the pressing needs of the inmates and boost their morale.”

The Midyear Prisons Donation Initiative is part of a broader campaign by the Kessben Outreach Foundation to carry out regular charitable acts in Ghanaian communities. This first edition focused on prison welfare, with plans to expand the initiative to other regions in the coming years.

The event concluded with a call to other institutions and the general public to support prison rehabilitation efforts and promote reintegration programs for ex-offenders.

Kessben Media and the Kessben Outreach Foundation continue to set the pace for corporate social responsibility in Ghana, proving once again that media can be a powerful agent for societal healing and positive change.
