Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, has voiced his disappointment regarding the scheduling of the late Daddy Lumba’s candlelight vigil on Saturday, August 2, the same day to premiere his much publicised, “Ibrahim Traore” movie.

In a Facebook live on Monday, July 28, Lil Win described the decision made by the organisers as unfair and inconsiderate, especially given the widespread knowledge of his movie’s premiere date.

“I’m so disappointed that the organisers chose to schedule Daddy Lumba’s candlelight vigil on the same day as my movie premiere, August 2nd. That’s the day for Ibrahim Traore. This is incredibly frustrating. I’m extremely disappointed,” he said.

A national candlelight vigil in honour of the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba is going to be held under the auspices of the Creative Arts Agency at the Independence Square in Accra on Saturday, August 2, 2025, starting at 6 p.m. (Read Candlelight vigil to be held in memory of Daddy Lumba on Aug 2, family opens book of condolence)

He expressed disappointment with the individuals involved, feeling that his substantial emotional and financial investments in the project had not been valued or reciprocated appropriately.

“I’m deeply saddened by the decision to hold Daddy Lumba’s candlelight vigil on the same day as my movie premiere. I’ve spent nearly 1 million dollars on this film, including production and promotions, and just like that, it’s being overshadowed.

“ Everyone knew my premiere was scheduled for that day, yet the organizers went ahead with their plans. This is truly heartbreaking given the cost and the effort I’ve put into this project,” he lamented.
