Suhum MP Calls for Holistic Approach to National Security

The Member of Parliament for Suhum, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, has emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to national security.
Speaking to the media, Hon. Asiedu Bekoe noted that a national security strategy document was introduced in Parliament prior to its formalization.
He stressed that security goes beyond just ammunition and armored vehicles, highlighting the importance of human security, which involves the development and well-being of citizens.
The MP identified issues such as galamsey (illegal mining), unemployment, and water pollution as significant national security threats.
According to Hon. Asiedu Bekoe, these human security components require a coordinated approach from the relevant ministries.
He emphasized that the national security strategy document addresses these issues, underscoring the need for a holistic approach to security that prioritizes the well-being and development of citizens.
