Even the Office of the President, which, by the grace of God, I now hold, is not above the law – Pres Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has promised to govern the nation honestly and has made his office open to public scrutiny.
John Mahama urged people to be truthful in their interactions while speaking at the inaugural National Prayers and Thanksgiving ceremony, adding,
“ Let us be generous and compassionate and let us be upright in our conduct. We must hold those in authority, including myself, accountable to the highest standards of integrity and humility.”
He went on to say that holding public office is a sacred trust granted by the people and that it is our duty to serve everyone, especially the most vulnerable among us, rather than a privilege for personal benefit.
“ Even the Office of the President, which, by the grace of God, I now hold, is not above the law. Leadership must be grounded in justice, in honesty, and in a reverence for God. If we want a just Ghana, we must be just in leadership,” he said.
