MAEL Foundation Partners with Ga Central Zongo Chief to Provide Free NHIS Cards to Muslim Brethren

Mael Ohemaa Asantewaa Memorial Foundation (MAEL FOUNDATION), a non-profit organization, partnered with the Ga Central Zongo Chief at the recent Eid Adha festival. The partnership was with the Muslim Leadership of Ga Central Municipal Assembly to enroll members onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). The goal was to ensure that members in and around Sowutuom, especially Muslim brethren, received NHIS cards freely.

The Head of the Zongo community and the Zongo Chief of Ga Central, Chief Yakubu Ayi Awala (also known as Chief Awala), who hosted the program, admonished the general public to enroll onto the NHIS and called for stakeholder participation to support the membership drive championed by the Greater Accra Regional Office of the NHIA.

Speaking through his Assistant, the Dagomba Chief of Sowutuom, Naa Yakubu Salifu, urged the public to prioritize healthy living and prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection for MAEL Foundation and the Management of NHIA. He expressed appreciation for the mutual partnership that ensured the needy were provided with free health insurance. He also prayed for enhanced collaboration and called on all Ghanaians, especially Muslims, to take their health and education seriously.

The founder and Life Patron of Mael Foundation, Nana Dankwa Kwansah III, known in private life as Mr. Elliot Apreko Asante also called on corporate bodies, philanthropists, and opinion leaders to support the NHIA in achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030.

Mael Ohemaa Asantewaa Memorial Foundation is a charity organization that supports the health and well-being of needy children and promotes economic empowerment by collaborating with the government and key stakeholders, especially religious and traditional leaders, the foundation aims to improve the socio-economic status of the needy in society.
