Ghana Must Stop Idealizing Projects and Start Implementing Them – Ejisu MP

Following the official launch of the Operation Feed Ghana initiative on Saturday by President John Dramani Mahama, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng, has raised concerns about the nation’s approach to policy implementation.
Speaking on Kessben TV’s Maakye Morning Show in response to the launch of Operation Feed Ghana, Hon. Kwabena Boateng criticized what he described as a national tendency to overly idealize development projects without committing to their full execution.
“We have a culture of making our initiatives look good on paper, but when it comes to implementation, very little gets done,” he noted.
Touching on the Operation Feed Ghana initiative, Hon. Boateng questioned the necessity of renaming if the project’s objectives simply mirror those of previous administrations: Planting for Food and Jobs program.
He urged policymakers to approach the initiative as a response to Ghana’s food security challenges, cautioning against turning it into yet another platform for short-term publicity or personal enrichment.
While commending the idea behind the initiative, the Ejisu MP concluded by encouraging government officials to back it with real, measurable efforts that directly benefit farmers and improve agricultural productivity across the country.
The Operation Feed Ghana campaign aims to boost local food production and enhance agricultural resilience, but public expectations remain high for visible impact and transparent execution.
