The only thing the NDC gov’t pride themselves on is stabilizing the cedi, but what’s inside the people’s pockets? – Kwabre East MP

The Member of Parliament for Kwabre East, Hon. Akwasi Gyamfi Onyina-Acheampong, has questioned the economic record of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, arguing that the administration’s focus on the stability of the cedi does not necessarily reflect improved living conditions for Ghanaians.

Speaking on Kessben FM, the MP said the main economic achievement the NDC government appears to take pride in is stabilising the Ghanaian cedi.

However, he questioned whether the stability of the currency has translated into tangible improvements in the financial circumstances of ordinary Ghanaians.

“The only thing the NDC government prides itself on is stabilising the cedi, but what is inside the people’s pockets?” he asked.

Hon. Gyamfi Onyina-Acheampong stressed that economic performance should not be measured solely by currency stability but should also consider the purchasing power and financial well-being of citizens.
